Due to the large number of Nintendo games I reviewed I have decided to do one on a game Nintendo would never even dare touch, Hitman Absolution. This is so far the most recent instalment in the Hitman Franchise and is my favorite. It has great graphics, an interesting story, and decent combat. It’s available for Xbox, Playstation, and Steam.
The game is pretty linear but is good despite this. The story is what makes the game as good as it is. You, Agent 47 are tasked with killing an ex-agent who leaked information about the agency and escaped. You travel through the closed society she lives in and at the last second, gun in hand you hesitate but shoot her. Her daughter goes wit you and you flee from the agency to protect her. You then do a lot of stuff that seems almost non related to the girl and thats basically the story without spoilers.
The gameplay is what you’d expect from a 3rd person shooter, so not much to comment on there. Something that IS notable however is the contract creation mode. You go to any level in the game, pick someone to kill, and kill them. Then you can share the level with those you killed as targets for others to play. It’s an interesting mode but doesn’t hold too much importance and you’ll likely play it once or twice and forget about it.
So there isn’t much to say about Hitman Absolution, its a good game and will be fun if you like stealth based shooters, and mildly annoying if you don’t. It has some fun levels to play, an intriguing story, and easy to use combat. It is certainly worth checking out if your into story driven shooters.
